Beauty Contests is an institution of beauty and all round personality based on a number of qualities necessary for a contestant to distinguish herself such as appearance, beauty, figure, culture and education.  In addition to the above qualities, a candidate should indispensably meet and comply with all conditions set by the  Official  International  Organisations with which we co-operate.  These are  Miss  Universe Inc.,  Miss  World (UK) Ltd.,  Mondial  Events  Organisation (Miss Europe & Miss  International - Kokusai Bunka Kyokai International Cultural Association). 

The beauty contest winners,  as is known represent Cyprus in International Beauty Contests for  MISS UNIVERSE,  MISS WORLD,  MISS EUROPE and  MISS INTERNATIONAL.  The participation of  STAR  CYPRUS,  MISS  CYPRUS and other prize winning participants in international beauty contests,  in addition to promoting our country as a tourist destination,  is of political importance to  Cyprus.  Both the committees of international organisations and the community of artists all over the world receive the winners of the  Carlsberg Pancyprian Official Beauty Contest as representatives of the whole of Cyprus and recognise our country as one and unitary state.

The Carlsberg Pancyprian  Official  Beauty  Contest is held in July every year and young women interested in participating should have in mind the following: 

1. Must have been born in  Cyprus or must have been naturalised and must have been lining in  Cyprus for a period of five years before the beauty contest,  or should have a parent or parents who were born in Cyprus.
2. Must have attained the age of 17, but must not have attained the age of 24 on the day the beauty contest is held.
3. Must not have given birth to children.
4. Must have never contacted a marriage (religious or civil) in  Cyprus or abroad.
5. Must be at least 1 metre and 65 centimetres tall.
6. Must not be suffering from any serious disease.
7. Must comply with the rules and conditions of participation in the contest set from time to time and to accept the panel’s decision as final.
8. Must know that they are judged for the following:

• Figure
• Beauty
• Personality
• Movement
• Self confidence
• Communication skills
• Deportment

9. At the Carlsberg Pancyprian Official Beauty Contest the following titles are granted:

1. STAR  CYPRUS – MISS  CYPRUS  UNIVERSE
2. MISS  CYPRUS – MISS  CYPRUS  WORLD
3. MISS  CARLSBERG – MISS  CYPRUS  EUROPE
4. MISS  MEDITERRANEAN – MISS  CYPRUS  INTERNATIONAL

10. The contestants are those chosen by the  Organising Committee in order to participate in the final contest because they met the conditions of participation.

11. The contestants in order to win titles should have the following ages:

    STAR CYPRUS – MISS CYPRUS UNIVERSE	18-27 on  1 February.
    MISS  CYPRUS – MISS CYPRUS WORLD	17-24 on  31 December
    MISS CARLSBERG – MISS CYPRUS EUROPE	17-24 on  1  July.
    MISS MEDITERRANEAN – MIS CYPRUS INTERNATIONAL	17-26 on  1  September
    2  RUNNERS-UP	17-24

12. The members of the Panel of Judges are appointed by the organisers of the Beauty Contest,  and their selection cannot be questioned or disputed.

The panel may consist of a minimum number of 9 and a maximum of 15 persons.
